Telltale are back – and today they have confirmed the release schedule for The Expanse: A Telltale Series, their first new IP since the company reformed.

There’s a good chance you would have played a Telltale game in years gone by, with The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us and more all having been pushed out to the world by the narrative champions. But now Telltale are back and their first new IP will be that of The Expanse: A Telltale Series. It’s one that is highly anticipated.

Due to release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC (Epic), The Expanse: A Telltale Series launches come July 27th 2023, as episode one of the series reveals itself to the world.

From there, we’re looking at a good ol’ Telltale release schedule, with the following four episodes rolling out every two weeks.

You’ll be able to get access to The Expanse: A Telltale Series via either the Standard or Deluxe Editions of the game, with a 24-hour early access period being granted to those who rock the cash for the Deluxe.

And why should you be excited for that July 27th release? Well, as mentioned, this is the first new IP announced by Telltale since the company re-formed back in 2019. The Expanse: A Telltale Series is set prior to the events of Alcon Television Group’s critically acclaimed television series which streams on Amazon Prime Video.

In the game, players take on the role of Camina Drummer (played by actress Cara Gee in both the game and TV series), the XO of a scavenger crew on the hunt for a mysterious treasure on the edges of The Belt. As Drummer, players must deal with a mix of powerful personalities, square off against a bloody mutiny, explore locations beyond The Belt and, most of all, make tough decisions that will decide the fate of The Artemis crew. Scour shipwrecks, use mag boots to walk on walls and ceilings, and utilize Zero-G thrusters to float through sections of ships and the open expanse of space in the largest and most immersive exploration of any Telltale game to date.

We’ll be sure to remind you as that July 27th release rolls around. Let us know if you’ll be playing The Expanse: A Telltale Series on Xbox, PlayStation or PC. The comments are below and the Xbox Store page for The Expanse is in place.
