Spellcaster University is coming to Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

Spellcaster University has only been providing magic to PC students since March 2023, but it’s already gained a huge following. Come early 2024, that same game will be coming to console.

Currently sitting on PC via Steam with a couple of thousand ‘Very Positive’ reviews, Spellcaster University is a product of the Sneaky Yak Studio team. A game that lets you go magic mad, you’ll be tasked with building up your own university, filling it with mages as you go. Training them up, before sending them out for a fight, is all par for the course.

A much loved PC game, it comes as no surprise then that Spellcaster University will now also be making waves on console. And that will all be thanks to the Red Art Games team, ported by the Red Art Studios stable.

Want some console magic?

You may be wondering which consoles Spellcaster University will be hitting, but as long as you have a modern piece of kit kicking around, you’re going to be sorted.

Yep, Spellcaster University will release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. What’s more, if you’re a PlayStation or Switch gamer, you’ll find a couple of physical releases too. A Standard Edition will be available at most major retailers. But we suspect it’ll be the Spellcaster University Deluxe Edition that will be of most interest. That will be a RedArtGames.com exclusive, limited to 300 copies per platform. The Spellcaster University Deluxe Edition will feature a wraparound box sleeve with alternate cover art, a poster and a keychain.

You can get pre-ordering the Standard and Deluxe Editions of Spellcaster University right now. It’ll cost €34.99 and can be pre-ordered right now from Red Art Games’ official online store.

Abracadabra! Spellcaster University on Xbox and PlayStation will provide the magic

If you haven’t played Spellcaster University on PC, then let us fill you in with the details ahead of that Xbox, PlayStation and Switch drop.

Spellcaster University will have you playing as a wizard school headmaster. Set in a uniquely colourful fantasy world, you’ll be set about creating your own school, managing a budget as best you can. Recruitment of teachers will be key, but so will the covering of student needs – as long as you create the finest mages and druids, your job will be complete.

The problem is, throughout your stay at the Spellcaster University you’ll be constantly attacked by tribes of orcs, whilst the wrath of the education authorities will continue to hammer down.

Reworked for a controller

As you may expect to hear, Spellcaster University on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch will be fully playable with a controller. In fact, it has been reworked to ensure ease of use. Further, all content and updates currently in place on PC will be present.

There will be a ton of features included…

  • Create your very own university using an original magic deck mechanic
  • Each type of magic has its own deck
  • Pick the type of students that you want to teach to
  • Manage the wellbeing of your student… and discipline them if need be
  • Upgrade your school’s rooms with powerful artifacts
  • Use your school as a shelter for mythical creatures (dragons, pegasus, janitors…)
  • Your choices have both short and long term consequences
  • Fight the dark forces and find new allies to help you
  • Fully playable with a controller for the first time ever
  • Native 4K graphics on PS5 and Xbox Series X
  • Languages supported: English, French, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, Spanish, Japanese, Polish
