It is the final week of Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 29 over in Forza Horizon 5, and as always we can hope that the Series goes out with a bang, rather than a whimper.
What is for damn sure is that there are going to be events to take part in, events that will require cars and tunes. Hopefully I can give you a bit of a nod in the right direction.
So, let’s dive into this Series 29 Spring and have a peek at what lies in store.
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Those Who Dare
The weekly challenge car for Series 29 – Spring is a car that was built to rival the Porsche from last week and Series 29 Winter, and it is the Ferrari 512S from 1970. Apparently this is a top class race car, so it should be interesting to drive!
Should you not have one in your garage, then it is available in the Autoshow for a hefty 3,500,000 Credits. It is also on offer in the Forzathon shop, should you have the necessary 800 FP to purchase it.
Chapter 1 – Rivalry
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete!
Chapter 2 – Risky Business
Only 25 of these were made, it turns out, and to celebrate this fact we have to try, strangely, drive 5 miles in one. Bonus points for not bending it!
Chapter 3 – No Other Colour.
Take a picture of your beautiful red Ferrari. Hopefully yours is in better shape than mine after my little drive…
Chapter 4 – 5 and 12
A five litre V12 makes this car pretty rapid (it’ll break the UK national speed limit in first gear) but now we need to push it to 200mph. Use the highway and let it rip! It does make a rude noise…
Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 29.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
So, with the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.
Four bloody Eventlabs this week! Yes, FOUR!
The Trial – Porscheing your Buttons
Oh dear.
Yes, we need a Porsche, and it has to be S1 Class 900. I chose a 911 GT2 Rs from 2012 and the share code is : 129256081.
Last week we did alright finding fellow racing peeps, may the same happen to you.
Should we manage to win out on this mammoth drive, an Audi RS2 will be ours. Makes it all worthwhile.
Eventlab 1 – Subie156 Presents – SS£ FCG – Outlaw Canyon
The category for cars this week is Muscle vs Tuner, and the class for tuning is B Class 700. I went with a Nissan Skyline GT-R from 1993 and the share code is : 135285831. The answer has to be a Skyline, right?
A nice little circuit with clearly a lot of work gone into the surroundings, I liked this one. Well up to Subie’s usual standard.
The prize for completing this race is a Dodge Challenger 2015.
Eventlab 2 – MILLES82 Presents – The Round Table 1960s (TA)
The category for this one is Rally Monsters up to A Class 800, and so I went with the Hoonigan Cossie V2. My share code is : 140648350.
Apart from the speed bumps at the start (why?) this is a great course, and a lot of fun to drive.
Take away some Super Wheelspin love for completing it.
Eventlab 3 – SKTARKZ23 Presents – Rally Finland
We need cars from the 1960s for this race, as you may have guessed, and so the choice I went with was a Jaguar E-Type from ‘61, and the share code is : 749596800.
A very pleasant drive through the countryside in a classic car, what could be better? And the best bit? Do it in the Jag, keep it clean and you will also complete the second Treasure Hunt this week!
We can take away some Farid Rueda Lion Race Gloves for completion.
Eventlab 4 – MAYNARDSTANG Presents – Desert Raceway
This time it is a Dodge car that is required, and the class is S1 Class 900. Has to be a Viper, right?
I went with the SRT Viper from 2013, and the share code is : 871569469.
Not a fan of this one, I’m afraid. Altogether too many 90 degree bends, and weird bits of the track where it suddenly gets narrower.
The final Eventlab prize this Series is a Forzalink phrase, “Are you not entertained?”.
PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Salto De Rio
Thank goodness, normal service has been resumed, and the PR Stunts this week all share a common theme – Extreme Track Toys, with a tuning limit of S2 Class 998.
For a bit of jumping, I chose a BMW X5M FE , and the share code is : 519084427.
We need to clear over 130m, which seems like quite a short distance this week. Approach from the south as it’s the only way!
We get a Super Wheelspin in return though.
PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Carretera
Speed this time, and the class is still S2 Class 998 Extreme Track Toys. I chose a stock Ferrari FXX-K EVO to do this in, as it is very good out of the box.
We have to exceed 155 mph to triumph. Some tricky bends make this a challenge, but approaching from the east seems easier.
Another Super Wheelspin awaits.
Seasonal Championship 1 – Teamwork, Dream Work!
The pun writers are back after the break…
For this event, it is an either a Mercedes Benz or a Mercedes AMG car and with a tuning limit of A Class 800.
I decided to inject a little fun and go for a truck, the Tankpool Racing Forza Edition one to be exact, and the share code for mine is: 117572081. Pity the fool that gets in your way!
For winning out, we can take home a Porsche 968 which is nice.
Part 3: Other Challenges
There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 29 – Spring.
Two treasure hunts return this week, and we need to take a pretty picture, of course! There’s also some Eliminator and Horizon Open to try our hand at. Plenty of stuff to do, in fact.
Photo Challenge – #SPACEAGEDESIGN
We have to photograph a Mercedes Benz at the Gran Telescopio, which seems straight forward enough, no?
See up top for my artistic effort, and below for the location.
The reward? A new Forzalink phrase “Beautiful”
Treasure Hunt 1 – Whipping up a Storm
The clue this time reads “A lance is already speedy. Can this similarly named car keep up?”.
The picture is a Lancia Delta, and so all you need to do is get in one, nail it to over 100 mph, and the “challenge” is complete.
The treasure chest contains 100 FP, and the location is shown below.
Treasure Hunt 2 – Purrfectly Clean
The clue for this one reads “Keeping doubly clean on the road is no trouble for these big cats” and if you followed my advice from the Eventlabs, you will have completed this already!
I love it when a plan comes together…
The chest contains 250,000 credits, and the location is shown below.
Horizon Open – Racking Up Miles
A simple task this week, we simply need to drive five miles in Horizon Open racing. What could be easier?
We can walk away with some white skinny jeans for doing this. I love a skinny jean.
The Eliminator – Battle Royale
Take part, try not to get knocked out, survive into the top 30, and profit. Profit to the tune of a new Forzalink phrase, “you’re Winner”.
Putting aside the mangling of the English language, cool, I guess…
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt -Speed Zone – Frozen Rush
More zooming about in Extreme Track Toys to S2 Class 998, and again I chose the FXX-K Evo.
We need to average 116 mph through the zone, and this car did it easily. Approach from the north, hit the zone as fast as you can and hang on!
A Super Wheelspin is your reward.
Seasonal Championship – Hot on your Tail
We need a B Class 700 Super Hot Hatch for this championship, and so I chose the Ford Focus RS from 2009, share code is : 111915343.
Completing the championship will get us an Acura Integra
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Drift Zone – Tieres Verdes
A bit of sliding about, and still in an S2 Class 998 Extreme Track Toy. Not built for drifting, these things, but I went with a stock Ferrari FXX-K Evo as it was already at the limit.
Should be easy enough to get it to wag its tail, right? And with 69,000 drift points needed, what could possibly go wrong?
Despite being surprisingly grippy, this worked well.
The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.
Seasonal Championship – Sprinting Ahead
We need a Modern Sports car for this race series, and the limit is only B Class 700. I chose a Subaru BRZ, and the share code is : 139235813.
For winning out, we can take away a Mazda RX-7 from ‘97.
With Series 29 at Spring, the whole thing is now complete and you should have saved up the points needed for the Nissan GT-R ‘20 for 80 points and a Porsche 911 GT3 ‘21 for 160.
If you need a few extra points to get you over the line, the monthly Rivals challenges are here; and there are a total of four to have a crack at this week – two proper events and two EV ones. Horizon Mexico Circuit and Playa Azul Circuit cover the options for the real engines, and Arch of Mulege Circuit and Emerald Circuit are in place for the EVs. Four points of offer for each, so get lapping!
Grab enough points and Series 29 Spring also sees you given access to the exclusive GTA Spano for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get an exclusive Fiat Dino, one of the prettiest coupes ever made.
Next up will be a whole new Series, and all we know about it is the name – Lunar New Year. I wonder what it could be? Come back this time next week and we’ll talk you through the cars and tunes needed as Series 30 of the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges commence.
To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
