Nintendo held its 84th annual shareholders meeting earlier and one of the questions which came up at the event was how Nintendo’s generational handover is going considering that the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto is now 72. Mr. Miyamoto replied by saying that “I consider (Nintendo’s) generational handover to be progressing smoothly. We have developers that are young and brilliant.” He thanked shareholders for asking about his health and said that he is doing very well and that he still continues to be fully involved in Pikmin Bloom’s development. Mr. Miyamoto also said that as all the employees are growing older he wants to ensure that the Kyoto-based company’s generational handover expands to encompass even younger employees.
