Nintendo hasn’t really been doing much with the Switch’s firmware lately. The last few updates, including the version 18.0.0 and 19.0.0 ones, contained very little new additions. Other than that, there have been even smaller updates released periodically, and even a handful of some “rebootless” updates. With the Switch on its way out, Nintendo has been focused more on the console’s stability.
Well, Nintendo has released a new update just a bit ago. Once you update, the Switch’s firmware should now be at version 19.0.1. It’s not surprising, but this update doesn’t really do much. Its main purpose is related to fixing a couple of issues. That said, the official patch notes haven’t been released in English yet, but they are available in Japanese. You can see a social media post relaying the news, as well as their translation of Nintendo of Japan’s patch notes, down below.
- Fixed an issue where GameCube controllers may not be recognized.
- Fixed an issue where communication processes like downloads may not function correctly in sleep mode.
