A heads up for PS Stars members who wish to maintain their level, as has been the case since the beginning, the annual progress reset happened earlier this week. This means that players have one year to fulfill the requirements to maintain their current level, failing which they’ll lose their level by 2026.

How the PS Stars level system works

Those who open their PS App for the first time after January 1 are greeted with a message reminding them that their progress has been reset (to the start of their last level), and if they want to maintain their level, they must fulfill requirements like purchasing four full games from the PS Store and earning up to 128 Rare and above trophies.

The PS App also offers an estimate of what players’ level will be in a year’s time based on their current progress towards fulfilling said requirements. Here’s where things get a bit confusing, though. The general assumption is that if players don’t manage to maintain their current level, they’ll fall back to the previous level by 2026. However, the PS App claims that all members will be thrown straight down to the first level.

It’s unclear if this is a mistake on Sony‘s part or we’ll genuinely be reset back to level 1 from levels 3 and 4 if we don’t maintain our status. Whatever the case, if you don’t want to be completely reset, make sure to complete the tasks listed above.
