Former Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan has said on Reset Era that Bethesda was at one point working on Fallout 4 for the Nintendo Switch family of systems. Sadly, the project never did materialise. Fans have been clambering for the series to come to the Nintendo Switch for a number of years. Khan says that his boss at the time asked him to draft a story on it, which he did, but the game never came into fruition. The team at Bethesda were likely testing out how the game would run on the platform.

“This was explored for Switch some years ago. To the point where Hines told my boss at the time to expect it, who then had me prep a story. Never came to fruition, though.”
